Miami put up a lot of yards offensively, but boy do we have a third and short problem. Miami needs to work on deception. Use more motion. Put a fullback or even a tackle in the backfield. A successful running play requires one double team block. Two men can block an All American defender if they have modest football technique.

I picked Miami to lose to FSU earlier in the year. I continue to think FSU beats us, and the reaction will be close to being unendurable.

We had over 500 yards of offense. Van Dyke continues to move the ball. Rooster is dangerous if he has any daylight whatsoever. But, what a failure we are in short yardage plays. We probably shouldā€™ve elected to pass the ball because we sure as hell cannot run the ball in those situations. Rambo dropped a couple heā€™d ordinarily catch. We should put a shuffle pass into the offense. Mallory should be more productive.
