John Ruiz Is Building us a Stadium?

Nice to see you are still the pathetic, ignorant troll you’ve always been.

By the way, you may want to look up what a communist actually is before flapping your gums.

SLANDERCANE N (STORM KNOWS YOUR REAL NAME BECAUSE OF YOUR FAKE ASS STORY) YOU EVER WRITE A RETRACTION FOR THE FAKE ASS GOLDEN STORY YOU WROTE SLANDERING HIM ABOUT HIM DISAPPEARING BASED ON THE FAKE ASS SOURCES OF LOST IN CONNECTICUT?

(STORM IS THE ONLY ONE THAT KNOWS THIS STORY THAT NO ONE KNOWS IS BULLSHIT BASED ON REPORTING BY MIKE RYAN AND CIS THAT NEVER HAPPENED ON THAT STORY EITHER)

DID YOU EVER BOTHER TO DISCOVER UM KNEW EXACTLY WHERE GOLDEN AND HIS FAMILY WAS EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY AND YOU REPORTED STRAIGHT SLANDERISH TRASH?

YOU SHOULD COME ON HERE AND AT LEAST SAY YOU REALLLLLLY FCKED UP NO?

THAT BITCH YOU ARE DEFENDING IS A COMMUNIST…

DON’T KNOW ANYONE THAT DEFENDS A COMMUNIST THAT ISN’T COMMUNIST…

I agree with this. That is the one thing that would be terrible about this on campus stadium thing. There really is no way to handle the influx of cars on gamedays. Dixie is choked with traffic on the best days–I can’t imagine how it would look like on gamedays.

On the hierarchy of needs UM has, an on-campus stadium isn’t very high on the list.

There are many better ways for UM to spend millions of dollars.

Hard Rock is a great, modern venue about 25 miles up 95 from campus.
Spending millions to “solve” a non-problem makes no sense to me.

If Ruiz wants a UM legacy, there are many new campus buildings/upgrades/scholarships that he could fund and put his name on.

The lawsuits alone will cost millions.

I don’t see it happening. Time will tell.

I sort of agree with this sentiment.

Losing the Orange Bowl hurt. But now things have progressed to a nice place. Getting in and out of, and tailgating at, Hard Rock is easy. It really works for fans. And the commute is not an awful thing for a school with a tiny student body.

I can’t see the future and I don’t know how a new stadium in CG would work out 10 years from now. Maybe it would be a win. But I do wonder at the necessity of it.

Can you even imagine how bad the traffic jams would be on US1 with an added 20,000+ vehicles approaching the University area? And the parking issues? That alone would seem to be make the plan unviable. But, Ruiz seems determined so we’ll see how it all plays out.

I know that if I lived around there I would be screaming at the local government to kill this project.

If you’ve been to a basketball game at the Watsco Center, you know how awful traffic can be, and that’s with only 8500 people in attendance. Imagine 4-5 times that, with people having elaborate tailgate setups and the like. It would be anarchy.

The City of Miami is responsible for the loss of the Orange Bowl. If we all remember …a proposal was offered to the City where UM would have contributed significantly to the rebuild. Indeed it was much more than twice the amount of $155 million which Loria and Samson claimed the Marlins could only afford.

UM’s offer was shot down in less than 48 hours and the scumbags running city government tripped over themselves rushing to sell out to those two fraudsters. After all the smoke cleared and the contracts signed by the City of Miami were held up to the bright light of day… the supposed $650 Million dollar stadium was really going to top the $2 Billion dollar mark.

…All profits were going to the Marlins. Concessions, parking …you name it. The tax-paying public would be on the hook and the debt would be there until 2049. The Marlins had hidden their books which would have shown they were swimming in profit…and by the time everything became known …it was too late.

We are a city of hucksters…carnival-barkers…scoundrels…and the like. If there was any justice…celestial or otherwise…Marlins Stadium would be partially torn down and retro-fitted for football. Luria and Samson would be jailed for fraud…and MLB would be asked to pay off all outstanding debt.

I know …I know…just a pipe-dream…but a good one isn’t it ?!

I read an article that was commenting on the way the Mario hire/Manny fire happened and how shitty it went down. They eluded that it was not surprising because that is how things work in Miami. They even used a hashtag… #BecauseMiami
