WHY WOULD YOU THINK WE WOULD BE BETTER THIS YEAR?
WE LOST A VERY GOOD SR DE AND TWO 1ST ROUNDERS…
A 5 STAR TE AND THE BEST KICKER IN THE COUNTRY…
AND NOW OUR BEST RB CHEANEY FOR THE SEASON

Yet we actually have more bluechippers this year than last. Yet we have more experience than last.
Maybe the team turns the corner and wins out. Just not seeing it because the Offense with all that talent and experience sucks.
DID MANNY BRING IN A WR TO PLAY AHEAD OF POPE?
WHY CAN HE BENCH POPE YET JENNINGS HE CAN’T BENCH?
I think the person who scheduled this season should be shot.
Maybe we do win out but the first three games destroyed this teams morale and will.
Re stormfront: I just want an answer why our tackling is awful . Not a riddle.
Diaz also knew who was likely leaving so next year when we don’t have Hedley, Nesta, bolden… will we be blame their departures?
Last I checked, the MSU kicked missed a kick too. Last I checked, the MSU team had a bunch of penalties, too.
Last I checked, the MSU team was still scoring points.
Hawk tackling.
Obviously, I shouldn’t have thought we’d be better but never considered being worse. Remember all the predictions that we’d only lose two games, Alabama and Clemson. We predicted we’d win at least the division if we could get by UNC. We were idiots, and it happens every year. We get revved up during the pre-season and then become disconsolate as the season transpires. Usually, our swoon begins later in the season. This year, the misery has been brought on early.
i dont recall butch’s teams being this bad at tackling and so undisciplined with penalties. this is an experienced team…one of the most experienced in this country. there is no excuse for Diaz who is a defensive coach and who is calling the plays.
Butch gets a pass because he lost 31 scholarships due to sanctions. and also he upset #3 UCLA in 98 so you are WRONG again about him not beating anyone until his final year.
THIS IS THE BEST TEAM EVER…
AVERAGED BASICALLY 10 PENALTIES A GAME…
YOU DON’T REMEMBER THAT BECAUSE WINNING CURES ALL…
That wasn’t James, that was Hocutt.
There’s a whole lot of “Fire Diaz” sentiment on the internet after the first three games. Diaz is just a JAG. We all knew it was a high risk hire but most of us hoped for the best. 50/50 he is gone after this season if Miami wins less than 6? games. If so, the BOT should clean house and get rid of James, too. He was another high risk hire (by Shalala) and only got the job because the two previous AD’s bolted for other jobs. Not sure how James survives if the football team and the basketball team both suck.
The question is “who does Miami hire to replace them?” I doubt Miami can afford Mario if he is even interested. Hopefully, next time they hire someone who can get shyt done. Campbell? Maybe do an actual search this time instead of making the easy hire.
After 15+ years of suck, I’ve pretty much given up on Miami ever being really good again.
The Bama game was always going to be a beat down. Michigan State seems to have a good team this year, probably underrated. App State always has a good team but Miami should not have to struggle to beat them given they are a smaller FCS? school. Miami is lucky not be 0-3.
Next week we’ll be saying, “you know, that Southern Connecticut squad is much improved and vastly underrated.”
YOU ARE RIGHT I FORGOT ABOUT THAT BECAUSE WE LOST TO SYRACUSE 66-13 THE WEEK BEFORE…
HOW WAS HIS DEFENSE AND TACKLING?
WE GAVE UP 45 TO UCLA…
EDGE IS NOT ON THIS SQUAD…
DID BUTCH FORGET HOW TO TEACH TACKLING AFTER WINNING THE SUPER BOWL AS A DC?
yeah ok storm.
bring me cristobal. guy is a proven recruiter and has now shown that he can win his conference, no matter how mediocre/bad it is. diaz has to go and there’s no coming back for him at this point
I was talking about The Beast who was the author of the tweet.
Overall, I agree with much of what you posted
Oh, okay … it wasn’t clear. So, it’s all your fault!!!
I think he is right. Does Manny/Blake survive 5-7 or 4-8 or 3-9? Probably not.
6-6 or better, Diaz probably survives due to his buyout? How much is Manny’s buyout if he is fired this year? 8M or so? Blake’s buyout probably isn’t all that much?
The guy that owns the airplane with the “Fire X” signs must be stoked.
He’s incapable of answering questions. The tackling is awful. Just plain awful!
From what I’ve heard, the buyout is not as big as 8m. It is likely closer to 3-4m. No matter the case, you would be looking at two buyouts and a much bigger annual cost moving forward.
Better AD: 2-5m/year on top of James’ salary
Buy out Manny: 3-4m
Buy out other coach: 3-10m
Pay new staff: 10-15m vs 8-10m
Year one cost: 20m more.
Year 2+ cost: upwards of 10m
The issue is that James has taken almost all men’s revenue sports to new lows. Baseball sucks, basketball sucks, football sucks. If Miami hits the low end of potential, it likely start to offset the 10m/year through bowl games, ticket sales, sponsorships, fundraising etc. if Miami continues on this path downward, it will make the hike up more difficult and likely more costly as revenue will weaken in the near term.
