Except we’re not even that good either. A one year Ward rental and still played like a team trying to lose every week once that first month was over. Team had 4-5 losses written all over it and I still think they lose 2-3 more including the bowl game. Next year, no Cam and back to having those losses show up unless Mario knows something about another QB that we don’t.
You sure about that on winning the last two and we’re in? I’m not sure we beat out Clemson if they beat Pitt coming up. They’d finish 7-1 and might get SMU. But again, we may not be done getting wrecked yet so it may not matter.
Well, the selection committee still has us as the top ACC team so that’s nice. (9th ranked team, 4th seed) Beat Wake and win at Syracuse and we’d play for the conference. Still a lot to play for but we need to look better in our preparation and we never seem to. At least the committee thinks enough of us to get us a bit of a do-over here late. No reason we should lose to Wake. I hope we come out with some purpose next week and take care of things. Then we’ll see about the Orange on the road.
That’s great to hear. In such a weak year for the conference, a single loss really shouldn’t trip up all our hopes and dreams. Hopefully the chance for a playoff lights a fire under the team.
