It’s absolutely backwards, BUT if the boosters are hiring the coach anyway, it benefits the AD to get the hire out of the way before he’s brought on. That’ll buy him 5+ years of job security as he can’t be blamed for the HC hire.

Manny made his bed by sucking it for three years. He absolutely blew the FSU game which was the last straw for most Miami fans. He never should have been hired in the first place. Blake James is as stupid as the woman who hired him.

Manny knew his goose was cooked by late September. He knowingly set ACCCG expectations (appropriate), 10 win season, himself as the DC etc. By late sept it was clear that bar wasn’t gonna be reached. He’s known since Blake was fired that barring a miraculous sequence of extrinsic failures this was his last season as HC.
He’s been well aware of everything this entire process.
