Blustein just loves to hear himself talk at times.
Pass rush wasn’t as good as we wanted, it wasn’t bad either.
It will be interesting to see who we bring in for DL, LB and DB. I also think we need a QB coach. Bluestein made a really good point about development and how we can’t keep doing the one year QB rental. If we do, guys won’t come here to play QB. He’s super high on Nickel.
Ya but it’s a problem everywhere and you can’t pass up Cam Wards and Carson Becks. Very few schools would or in a position at QB to do so.
The argument against him is that there are many others who could do what he’s done without his game day complete stupidity
And some of his 1st round of hires, especially when considering his ridiculously lengthy and dramatic hiring processes were inexcusable. Cristobal was hired to bring a big boy attitude to the job and lift us from the amateur hour Diaz approadch. Yet somehow he ended up with Gattis?
All in all I agree, he is improving the program.
Listen Restrepo represents Miami very well but he should not be a number 1…Probably not a number 2
Not a #2? This is just incorrect, he is one of the best college slot WR you will see.
I feel he has done a very good job of roster management
Yup I agree.
He could have easily taken a step back in 2025
From what? A team that didn’t make the playoffs…He sure as hell better not have taken too far a step back, even without Beck.
He could have easily taken a step back in 2025 but landing Beck probably makes that less likely…
Well, 3-4 million, whatever it was…Makes Beck possible, not anything Mario did.
All in all, I agree with some of your points, and am still optimistic about CMC…He is really an outlier in terms of making bad in game coaching decisions though. It’s truly amazing.
Apparently, Wisconsin violated an NCAA bylaw by refusing to put Lucas in the transfer porthole.
The attorney contacted the NCAA prior to launching a lawsuit against Wisconsin along restraint of trade grounds hoping to find a workaround solution. My understanding is that the NCAA suggested Lucas simply withdraw from Wisconsin and enroll at Miami. According to Lucas’ attorney, the NCAA does not feel Wisconsin had the right to prevent Lucas from entering the porthole and feels Wisconsin is in the wrong. He was actually shocked that Wisconsin and the Big 10 took the positions they did and considers their stance to be irrational. He also stated that “tampering” doesn’t really apply in this case as there is no employer/employee relationship (and, in fact, the NCAA has gone out of its way to prevent such relationships from taking hold.as it would potentially blow up the NCAA’s stranglehold on college athletes.)
If that is indeed the case, it seems likely Lucas will join the Hurricanes either in the Spring of the Fall and Wisconsin is simply making a lot of noise that will serve no purpose. He is presently enrolled at Miami.
Not a good look for Wisconsin. Reportedly, Lucas’ father is ill and he wants to play closer to home. However, Wisconsin seems hell bent on making him an indentured servant. Good luck to them recruiting in South Florida again anytime soon after this PR disaster.
